Bring your own container to take it home in. A scissors or a rotary cutter and mat are useful tools to bring if you have them.

Service group: Update: We're meeting at the church (not Becky's house) tomorrow at 10:00 to make stockings and blankets for Project Comfort and Joy. Those who attend should plan on a potluck lunch at noon and bring a pair of sewing scissors if they have them and Christmas fabric and trim remnants they have on hand to embellish the stockings.

Exercise 5K Group
Here are some upcoming 5Ks to consider:
1. Denver Skirtchaser 5K http://www.skirtchaser5k.com/ Really fun idea, but a bit pricey...the course is pretty flat though...always a PLUS!

2. Run for Charities 5K http://www.active.com/page/Event_Details.htm?event_id=1757884&assetId=E0012CE0-49A7-4A9B-9180-B7BD1A7B062C Good price, and fun course! (around Elitches!) ***I'm leaning towards doing this one myself ;)

3. D'Evelyn Dash Fundraiser 5K http://www.develyneducationfoundation.com/index.cfm?content=page&page=DEvelynDash This one benefits the High School, and has an interesting cross-country style course. Too busy for my preggo belly, but I would definitely try next year! The best part about this one is that it is cheap! $20 including t-shirt! This is just a fun-type run, official times will not be posted anywhere.

***if you hear of any other good ones, or have a better idea for something active to do, let me know; I know not everyone is into running! :)

Upcoming 5Ks to think about!

***Kathy Puter has made me aware of a special 5K that is happening on Saturday May 16th. It is FREE, but any donations you can give will benefit CU Medical School to help fight Lung Cancer. This 5K was started by an LDS family whose father passed away due to Lung Cancer. I'll post more details when they become available, just thought I would let you know so you can start planning www.thegiftoflifeandbreath.com

***Also, sometime at the end of April/Early May will be our Ward's own 2nd 5K! The activites committee is putting this together this year, and if you missed it this last Fall, be sure & join us this time!!! It was a very well planned & carried out activity for everyone (even the kids)! So come walk or run with friends, and bring your kids to do the fun run. Again, I will post when more specific details come available.

***for other 5Ks, Highland's Ranch puts together a whole series with a 5K each month. Reasonably priced & lots of fun. I believe that most, if not all are run on Saturdays. http://www.hrcaonline.org/PortalContent/SubContentPage.aspx?SubPortalID=1&TabID=4&ParentID=4&SubSectionID=4

Infant Massage

Here's an opportunity for you to learn infant massage! Jacke Ellis from the Ken Caryl ward is looking to get her certification on this...let's help her out! :)

Needed:
At least 5 caregiver/infant (birth-1yr) group volunteers to participate in a FREE Infant Massage class for my practicum to become a "Certified Infant Massage Educator". It is a five week commitment. I plan to have it on Wed afternoons from 1:30-2:30ish. (can be modified if this time does not work for the majority of those interested).

"Caregiver" is defined (for our purpose) as a person who tends to the infant on a regular basis and is considered a permanent fixture in the baby's world IE: mom, dad, grandma, etc...you get the idea....Oh, you must provide your own infant!

I will be teaching the caregiver massage techniques that will aid in relaxation and bonding between the infant and caregiver. I need to have 1 class of 5 groups OR 2 classes of 3 groups to qualify for my certification.

Refreshments will be served.

Please contact Jackie Ellis (K.C. Ward) at 303 798-6033 or 303 550-1743 for more information!
